More than ever, we are being asked to evaluate where sustainability sits in our list of priorities.

Nations, multi-national corporations, smaller businesses and individuals all need to play their part in promoting diversity, reducing hunger and poverty, social enterprise, preserving our planet and resisting climate change in order to condition the human race to live in a sustainable way.

The responsibility for delivering change falls on each and every one of us.

But that’s not much help if it gets in the way of running a profitable business.

In 2022, however, that is no longer an excuse for inaction on sustainability. Sustainability should be embedded in all that we do as entrepreneurs and business people, not regarded as a functional tick-box exercise.

If you do it right, you can both “do well” and “do good“.

Do well, do good.

Is there a more important issue facing all of us in the 21st century than sustainability?

If it's costing you money, you're probably doing it wrong.

Rondi Allen and Nick Reilly, Founders of Sustainable X

That is why we are so delighted to have been accepted as one of only a handful of associates of Sustainable X.

Working with them, we give our clients the latest, most practical and appropriate insight into best practice in these areas, so that you can demonstrate your sustainability credentials, and take advantage of the enhanced profit and growth that can result.

Their mantra is that sustainability, while an ideal in itself, is not something small businesses can simply “comply with” or “adopt” and generally expect to remain in business.

For sustainability to be … sustainable … businesses should look at the areas of greatest impact that they have:

  • in the workplace
  • on customers and clients
  • on their local environment
  • on supply chains
  • in terms of social and community responsibility
  • on the global environment

and work out ways in which those impacts can be reviewed, built into decision making and become part of a strategy of sustainability that accords with as many of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as possible.
